COVID-19 & Secure Teledentistry

These are trying times we're facing and at Hope Family Dentistry we are doing everything we can to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 infection in following all local, state and federal guidelines.

COVID Policy:

a. We will ask if the patient has ANY cold or flu like symptoms. If they have any, or we observe them in the practice, let them know we will REFUSE treatment until symptoms pass

b. Patients and everyone arriving in the vehicle will be asked to bring a mask, scarf, bandana or any other protective face covering that may be available.

c. We will ask to have no one with the patient at time of visit unless they are a driver, caretaker or parent. Drivers will be asked to wait outside the practice unless they are a parent or caretaker.

d. Patients will wait in their car and staff will come out to greet them when it is time to begin their visit

e. At greeting outside, we will take the patient’s temperature at time of visit, as well as any other person in the vehicle that will enter the practice

i. IF PATIENT TEMPERATURE IS ELEVATED/INDICATES A FEVER, WE WILL REFUSE TREATMENT AND RESCHEDULE

f. Once treatment is complete, patients will be dismissed and if possible, scheduled for follow up

How will we be using Teledentistry services?

We will however, be offering teledentistry services which will be a way for us to start treating dental emergencies more effectively. Teledentistry will allow us to screen patients as accurately as we can.

We will be using services offered by Brightsquid, which are HIPAA compliant. Our screenings will primarily start with a phone call. We will start screening symptoms of pain, and assess the nature of your dental emergency. Using Brightsquid HIPAA compliant solutions, we will be able to securely attain photos, video and other pertinent information. This will help us further assess the situation and set up emergency service if needed.

If we need more information after speaking on the phone, we will need to collect basic information such as Name, Date of Birth & Contact Information. Using Brightsquid's software will work like signing up for ANY other email service (yahoo, gmail, etc.). We will then use the software to send protected health information via secure email.
